| dc.description | Welcome to this course on language macroskills, where learners are introduced to the fundamental components of effective communication: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The course begins by establishing a strong foundation, guiding learners to understand the nature of these four macroskills, their interdependence, and their essential role in both real-life communication and classroom practice. It encourages reflection on personal learning experiences and highlights the importance of teaching these skills in an integrated rather than isolated manner. As the course progresses, learners will explore receptive language skills—listening and reading—focusing on the significance in comprehension and language acquisition. Emphasis is placed on practical strategies, techniques, and assessment methods that support learners in understanding spoken and written texts effectively. The course also develops productive language skills, particularly speaking and writing. Learners will examine approaches that help students’ express ideas clearly, organize their thoughts, and communicate confidently. In addition, it highlights the importance of using appropriate assessment tools, such as rubrics and performance-based tasks, alongside constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. Finally, the course underscores the value of integrating all four macroskills in both instruction and assessment. Learners will gain insights into designing meaningful lessons and activities that reflect real-world communication, as well as evaluating learners’ communicative competence through integrated performance tasks. Overall, this course equips learners with the knowledge, strategies, and assessment techniques necessary to teach language macroskills effectively, fostering communicative competence through a balanced and integrated approach. | |
