Abstract

AGRI 602: Introduction to Organic Agriculture provides foundational knowledge of the principles, practices, standards, and development of organic agriculture. The instructional materials cover the history and scope of organic agriculture, organic food quality and safety, certification and quality-control standards, relevant Philippine laws and policies, and current and emerging trends in sustainable organic farming. Through learning activities and applied assessments, the materials develop learners’ ability to evaluate organic agriculture practices and contribute to sustainable, safe, and environmentally responsible food systems.
