    Perceptions on mathematics classroom learning environment and mathematics achievement of students

    This study aimed to determine the level of student's perception of the classroom learning environment, level of Grade 10 students mathematics first grading achievement, significant relationship relationship between the level of student's perception of the classroom learning environment and mathematics first grading achievements and which indicators of student's perception of the classroom learning environment influence mathematics achievements. The study's respondents were 48 Grade 10 students in Ruparan National High School and were determined through complete enumeration method. The study's used a descriptive-correlational research design. The result of the study revealed that the level of student's perception in mathematics classroom learning environment was high and the level of mathematics achievements of students was described as approaching proficient. Furthermore, the study revealed that there is a low positive relationship(r=0.35) between level of students perception of the classroom learning environment and mathematics achievement. Among the six indicators that significantly influence the mathematics achievement of students.

    Covid-19 pandemic aftermath: Mathematics teachers teaching strategy in Salud Cagas Technical and Vocational High School

    The covid-19 pandemic impacted a lot the mathematics teachers in the deliberation of education. This research aimed to determine the adjustments of teachers of mathematics teachers and to delineate the different teaching strategies of mathematics teachers in Salud Cagas Technical and Vocational High School. The study employed qualitative phenomenological research methods, utilizing in-depth interviews. The findings reveal that mathematics teachers used different teaching strategies, such as active-based instruction and traditional method of teaching. Furthermore, mathematics teachers encountered various challenges in utilizing the different teaching strategies in a post-pandemic. These challenges include fall under facilitating learning, classroom management, applying new methods of teaching, and challenges in the new curriculum. Instead of letting the challenges overdrive their ways, teachers are applying different coping strategies in conquering the challenges such as going the extra mile in teaching and keeping up the teaching innovations. Moreover, teachers understand that they should adapt the changes in the teaching landscape and parent-teacher collaboration should be established in the field of education .

    The use of instructional videos as a learning tool and students' self-concept in learning mathematics

    The study of mathematics is unique and essential to education. People use mathematics on a daily basis in various fields and aspects of life. Basically, utilizing technological advancement in educating students in Mathematics is a challenging assigned responsibility that involves taking into contemplation several types of aspects, such as teaching methods, subject matter, and student engagement. Additionally, a student's self-concept in mathematics can be assessed by how confident they are in their ability to grasp new mathematical concepts and perform well in class. This is how students perceive their mathematical skills and knowledge. To identify the relevant relationship between the use of instructional videos as a learning tool and students' self-concept in learning mathematics. This quantitative study was organized by utilized detailed-correlational survey method to gathered information using an modified questionnaire from Adlawon et al., (2022) and Bunag (2015). The information of the research was collected by employing a questionnaire consisting of two parts. Part I, is requested to ascertain the use of instructional videos as a learning tool in terms of its: Purpose, Content, and Video Quality. Part II, is to determine the students' self concept towards mathematics in terms of: Learned, Organized, and Dynamic. At Davao del Sur State College at Matti, Digos City is where this research study was carried out. After the researcher obtaining the list of BSED-Mathematics students from ITED, 141 respondents were anticipated between the use of instructional videos as a learning tool and students' self-concept in learning mathematics.

    The influence of study habits and learning interest on the mathematics performance of indigenous students

    The main goal of this study was to determine the level of influence of study habits and learning interest on the mathematics performance of indigenous students of the Grade 9 indigenous students in Sinawilan National High School. This research study used a descriptive-correlation research design. The study was conducted with a total of 65 respondents from all the 9 indigenous students who are currently enrolled for the academic year 2022-2023. The instruments that were used by the researcher in gathering data dealt with the level of influence of study habits and learning interest on the mathematics performance on the mathematics performance of indigenous students. Results revealed that the Grade 9 indigenous students' level of study habits and learning interest is high and low, study habits obtain an overall mean of 3.52 and learning interest obtain an overall mean of 2.98. There is a significant relationship between study habits and learning interest on mathematics performance. Also, the domain that most influences mathematics performance are the home environment and motivation. It was found that the Grade 9 indigenous students in Sinawilan National High School experienced a high level of study habits and learning interest which influences their mathematics performance. Future research may be undertaken covering another set of respondents to determine their level of mathematics performance, and can use other variables that were not used in the study.

    Instructional communication and students' productivity

    The main goal of the study was to determine the level of influence of instructional communication of students' productivity level BSED Mathematics students of Davao del Sur State College. The research study used a descriptive-correlation research design . The study was conducted with a total of 103 respondents from first-year and second-year BSED Mathematics students who are currently enrolled for the academic year 2022-2023. The instruments that were used by the researcher in gathering data dealt with the level of instructional communication and it's impact on students' productivity level. Results revealed that level of instructional communication is average, as interpreted from the gathered results, with an overall mean of 3.33. Among the three indicators of the independent variable, it was found that teacher non-verbal immediacy mostly affects students' productivity with a significance level of 0.00 and a strong correlation value. Moreover, students' productivity levels obtained an overall mean of 3.16, which means students are moderately productive and were affected by instructional communication and students' productivity. Also, the domain that mostly influences the students' productivity is teachers' non-verbal immediacy. It was found that the BSED Mathematics students of Davao del Sur State College experienced an average level of instructional communication which influences students' productivity. Future research may be undertaken covering another set of respondents to determine their level of academic productivity, and can use other variables that were not used in the study.

    Factors that affects mathematics performance of SHS students

    This descriptive correlational study examined the relationship of student-related factors and teacher-related factors towards the performance of SHS students in Mathematics in Matti National High School to obtain the data, one hundred thirty (130) respondents were selected using stratified random sampling technique. Result revealed that the level of student -Related Factors of SHS Students was 3.59 and described as high and the Level of Teacher -Related Factors of SHS Students was 3.65 and described as high. On the other hand the Mathematics Performance of SHS Students was 88.58 and describes as very satisfactory. In addition , with a p-value of 0.888, there is no significant relation between Students-Related Factors and the mathematics Performance of SHS students. Also, with a p- valve of 0.632,there is no significant relation between Teacher -Related Factors and the Mathematics Performance of SHS students.

    The use of Newman error analysis for word problem involving linear equation

    In Mathematics education, Newman Error Analysis is a valuable tool for understanding the complexities of linear equation word problem, focusing on the cognitive process behind students' error to enhance problem- solving abilities. The study investigated Grade 7 students at Manuel Francisco C. Ramos Sr. National High School to solve word problems with linear equations containing single variable during the SY: 2023-2024, quantitatively analyzing common errors in a 10-item objective test taken by 43 students. Using descriptive correlational statistics, the study found that the errors frequently occurred in transformation, process skills, comprehension, encoding and reading. The study revealed a strong negative correlation, which indicate that students who made more errors in a certain type of errors in Newman Error Analysis also demonstrated lower proficiency in solving word problem. This suggest that addressing these varies types of errors, especially in the transformation errors, may gave teachers an idea and let them use a diverse teaching technique in Mathematics, including hands-on activities and real-word application, may improve students' proficiency.

    Perception on the application of differentiated instruction and academic performance in mathematics

    Differentiated instruction is an instructional approach that customizes teaching methods, content, and learning activities to address the diverse needs, abilities, and interest of students within the same classroom. The objectives of this research is to determine the relationship between students' perception of the application of differentiated instruction and their academic performance in mathematics at Davao del Sur State College. This research adopts a quantitative non-experimental research design, utilizing a descriptive correlation technique. The findings indicate a significant relationship between students' perceptions of differentiated instruction and the academic performance of students studying Bachelor of Science in Education (BSED) mathematics. However, the correlation analysis reveals a negative correlation coefficient, suggesting a negligible correlation between these two variables. It's worth noting that the students' perception of differentiated instruction in mathematics is rated as high, and their academic performance in mathematics is considered satisfactory.

    The effects of student's interest to their mathematics performance

    Determining the relationship between student's interest in mathematics and their performance in the subject in grade 7 at Manual National High School in Kiblawan, Davao del Sur, is the main objective of this study. Pertaining to the 2022-2023 academic, 60 students from Manual National High School participated in the survey. A survey checklist questionnaire administered face-to-face served as the tool. The researcher took ownership of the used instrument. The following conclusions were drawn from the use of descriptive statistics and correlation tools. Students at Manual National High School in grade 7 frequently show interest in their mathematical performance. The results indicated that we should reject our null hypothesis. The motivation to learn mathematics and the quality of mathematics instruction have a substantial impact on math performance. Peer assisted learning, the motivation to learn mathematics, and the quality of mathematics instruction all have a 3.87 degree of relationship that is frequently positive.

    Productive struggle in learning mathematics and problem solving skills of senior high school students

    This world is cycles of mathematics where living organisms lived and stay. This research study used a complete enumeration research design and the instruments that were used by the researcher in gathering data dealt with the students' productive struggle in learning mathematics. The study was conducted with a total of 54 students from all Grade 11 and Grade 12 students of Marber National High School of STEM-STRAND students in Senior High School Department who are currently enrolled for the academic year 2022-2023. Results revealed that Grade 11 and Grade 12 STEM-STRAND students' level of Productive Struggle in Learning Mathematics is high with an overall mean of 3.68. There is no significant correlation between spatial skills and the problem-based learning approach, learning style and spatial skills, numerical factors and the problem-based learning approach, and learning style and numerical factors. It was found out that the Grade 11 and Grade 12 STEM-STRAND students of Davao del Sur State College possessed a weak level of mathematical ability, intend to choose STEM which is a study track that provides math related courses. The school administrators may provide plans and intervention in the issue of mathematical ability and also provide career guidance to support students on choosing their intended study track.
