    Perceptions of students in using Quilbot in academic writing

    This study explores the impact of Quilbot paraphrasing tool on Davao del Sur State College third-year students' academic writing skills, including its influence on writing process, skill development, and academic integrity. Qualitative interview with eight participants showed that Quilbot was generally helpful enhancing writing, vocabulary, and preventing plagiarism, though corners about overuse and stifling creativity were raised. This study emphasis the need for greater education outreach on ethical use tools in academic writing. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to ongoing discussions on the incorporate of AI- powered tools in academic writing settings and the impacts of these developments on academics writing practices.

    Android-based classroom attendance monitoring system using QR technology with SMS notification

    This paper introduces an innovative Android-based classroom attendance monitoring system aimed at overcoming the limitations of traditional manual tracking methods within educational environments. By harnessing SMS notifications and QR codes, the system seeks to enhance both accuracy and efficiency. The system utilizes individual QR codes assigned to students to streamline attendance recording, eliminating the need for manual data entry and reducing errors. eliminating the need for manual data entry and reducing errors. Furthermore, automatic SMS notifications promptly update parents on their student's attendance status, thereby promoting transparency and communication between home and school. The study outlines the developmental objectives of various modules, including storing attendance data, scanning QR codes, managing user accounts, and generating reports. It emphasizes functionality, usability, and reliability in system design. The research's significance lies in its potential to enhance the effectiveness and transparency of attendance monitoring, benefiting school administrators, students, parents, and future researchers alike. Deployed initially at Alfredo Eugenio Sr. Elementary School, the system addresses challenges such as mobile network stability and device reliability, thereby contributing to advancements in educational technology and attendance management

    Perceptions on mathematics classroom learning environment and mathematics achievement of students

    This study aimed to determine the level of student's perception of the classroom learning environment, level of Grade 10 students mathematics first grading achievement, significant relationship relationship between the level of student's perception of the classroom learning environment and mathematics first grading achievements and which indicators of student's perception of the classroom learning environment influence mathematics achievements. The study's respondents were 48 Grade 10 students in Ruparan National High School and were determined through complete enumeration method. The study's used a descriptive-correlational research design. The result of the study revealed that the level of student's perception in mathematics classroom learning environment was high and the level of mathematics achievements of students was described as approaching proficient. Furthermore, the study revealed that there is a low positive relationship(r=0.35) between level of students perception of the classroom learning environment and mathematics achievement. Among the six indicators that significantly influence the mathematics achievement of students.

    Self-esteem and arithmetic skills among first -year students

    Self-esteem is a vital trait that enables people to feel successful, capable, and valuable regardless of their weakness and failures. Self-esteem is persistent desire that drives everyone's behavior. This study aimed to determine the significant relationship between self-esteem and arithmetic skills among first-year students enrolled in STEM-related programs. One hundred seventy-nine first-year students enrolled in STEM-related programs participated in the study at Davao del Sur State College. To address the study's research aims, the researcher employed a descriptive -correlational research design. The research study was performed using an adapted survey questionnaire. The findings of the study revealed that the level of students' self-esteem in learning mathematics in terms of self-significance was characterized as high while self-capabilities, success, and worth were characterized as average. Whereas, the level of students' arithmetic skills in learning mathematics was interpreted as satisfactory. Additionally, the results of the study show a significant relationship between self-esteem and arithmetic skills. Based on the findings of the study, it emphasized the complex relationship between students' self-esteem and their arithmetic skills in learning mathematics. Stakeholder are encouraged to prioritize activities to enhance students self-esteem in learning mathematics, focusing on creating holistic strategies, personalized support, open communication, and exploring underlying factors for future research.

    Covid-19 pandemic aftermath: Mathematics teachers teaching strategy in Salud Cagas Technical and Vocational High School

    The covid-19 pandemic impacted a lot the mathematics teachers in the deliberation of education. This research aimed to determine the adjustments of teachers of mathematics teachers and to delineate the different teaching strategies of mathematics teachers in Salud Cagas Technical and Vocational High School. The study employed qualitative phenomenological research methods, utilizing in-depth interviews. The findings reveal that mathematics teachers used different teaching strategies, such as active-based instruction and traditional method of teaching. Furthermore, mathematics teachers encountered various challenges in utilizing the different teaching strategies in a post-pandemic. These challenges include fall under facilitating learning, classroom management, applying new methods of teaching, and challenges in the new curriculum. Instead of letting the challenges overdrive their ways, teachers are applying different coping strategies in conquering the challenges such as going the extra mile in teaching and keeping up the teaching innovations. Moreover, teachers understand that they should adapt the changes in the teaching landscape and parent-teacher collaboration should be established in the field of education .

    Factors influencing online shopping in agribusiness related products in selected Higher Education Institution (HEI's) Digos City

    The aim of this study was to ascertain the level of factors influencing online shopping among students in Davao del Sur State College and other higher education institution (HEI's) Digos City. From October to December 2023, Factors influencing online shopping among students in Davao del Sur State College, and HEI's in Digos City in terms of: Convenience, Time saving and Website design, using a descriptive and correlational research design. A modified survey questionnaire was used to survey 186 respondents from the different schools. The data collected was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings indicated that in terms of convenience the study has a high rate, and when it comes to website design the level of factors influencing online shopping among students has a high rate this means that students highly value the efficiency through online shopping. Furthermore, the data revealed that there is significant difference among students in Davao del Sur State and other Higher Education Institution (HEI's) Digos College based on their socio-demographic profile. All p-values are all less than the 0.05 level of significance. Thus, fail to reject Ho. Moreover, the p-value age (p=0.462) gender identity (p=0.592) school (p=0.228) course (p=0.588) civil status (p= 0.953) ethnicity (p=0.017) which is less than 0.05 level of significance.

    The use of instructional videos as a learning tool and students' self-concept in learning mathematics

    The study of mathematics is unique and essential to education. People use mathematics on a daily basis in various fields and aspects of life. Basically, utilizing technological advancement in educating students in Mathematics is a challenging assigned responsibility that involves taking into contemplation several types of aspects, such as teaching methods, subject matter, and student engagement. Additionally, a student's self-concept in mathematics can be assessed by how confident they are in their ability to grasp new mathematical concepts and perform well in class. This is how students perceive their mathematical skills and knowledge. To identify the relevant relationship between the use of instructional videos as a learning tool and students' self-concept in learning mathematics. This quantitative study was organized by utilized detailed-correlational survey method to gathered information using an modified questionnaire from Adlawon et al., (2022) and Bunag (2015). The information of the research was collected by employing a questionnaire consisting of two parts. Part I, is requested to ascertain the use of instructional videos as a learning tool in terms of its: Purpose, Content, and Video Quality. Part II, is to determine the students' self concept towards mathematics in terms of: Learned, Organized, and Dynamic. At Davao del Sur State College at Matti, Digos City is where this research study was carried out. After the researcher obtaining the list of BSED-Mathematics students from ITED, 141 respondents were anticipated between the use of instructional videos as a learning tool and students' self-concept in learning mathematics.

    Factors influencing students' preferences in choosing a strand in senior high school

    One of the most complex decisions a junior high school student may make is which senior high school career or strand to follow. In choosing their preferred strand, they may be influenced by many factors as well as other reasons. In response, this study aimed to find out students' preferred strands, the factors' influence on the senior high strand preferences, and whether there is significant association between the factors and strands. The study's respondents were determined by employing complete enumeration; 76 students were selected as the study's participants. To measure the impact of the mentioned strand selection factors on the strand preferences of the students, the researchers utilized a descriptive correlational technique for research. A survey questionnaire that had been adopted was used to collect the necessary data. The statistical significance of parents and employment chances was discovered. Two of the five influences were most effective in influencing and predicting students' strand selection determinants. The socioeconomic, academic performance, and peer influence variables were shown to be statistically insignificant. The factor of socioeconomic status, parents, and job opportunities are among those that influence strand selection. It was discovered to have a powerful impact on students' preferred courses. It can be assumed that various determinants for career choice have statistically significant effects on students' senior choosing a career in high school since senior high school preparation is essential after graduating from high school, whether they choose tertiary education, job, or both, the study provides essential guidance on how to lead and develop for kids, parents, and school officials their intended careers.

    The influence of study habits and learning interest on the mathematics performance of indigenous students

    The main goal of this study was to determine the level of influence of study habits and learning interest on the mathematics performance of indigenous students of the Grade 9 indigenous students in Sinawilan National High School. This research study used a descriptive-correlation research design. The study was conducted with a total of 65 respondents from all the 9 indigenous students who are currently enrolled for the academic year 2022-2023. The instruments that were used by the researcher in gathering data dealt with the level of influence of study habits and learning interest on the mathematics performance on the mathematics performance of indigenous students. Results revealed that the Grade 9 indigenous students' level of study habits and learning interest is high and low, study habits obtain an overall mean of 3.52 and learning interest obtain an overall mean of 2.98. There is a significant relationship between study habits and learning interest on mathematics performance. Also, the domain that most influences mathematics performance are the home environment and motivation. It was found that the Grade 9 indigenous students in Sinawilan National High School experienced a high level of study habits and learning interest which influences their mathematics performance. Future research may be undertaken covering another set of respondents to determine their level of mathematics performance, and can use other variables that were not used in the study.

    Instructional communication and students' productivity

    The main goal of the study was to determine the level of influence of instructional communication of students' productivity level BSED Mathematics students of Davao del Sur State College. The research study used a descriptive-correlation research design . The study was conducted with a total of 103 respondents from first-year and second-year BSED Mathematics students who are currently enrolled for the academic year 2022-2023. The instruments that were used by the researcher in gathering data dealt with the level of instructional communication and it's impact on students' productivity level. Results revealed that level of instructional communication is average, as interpreted from the gathered results, with an overall mean of 3.33. Among the three indicators of the independent variable, it was found that teacher non-verbal immediacy mostly affects students' productivity with a significance level of 0.00 and a strong correlation value. Moreover, students' productivity levels obtained an overall mean of 3.16, which means students are moderately productive and were affected by instructional communication and students' productivity. Also, the domain that mostly influences the students' productivity is teachers' non-verbal immediacy. It was found that the BSED Mathematics students of Davao del Sur State College experienced an average level of instructional communication which influences students' productivity. Future research may be undertaken covering another set of respondents to determine their level of academic productivity, and can use other variables that were not used in the study.
