Item Exploring the grammatical errors of second year BSED English studentsDadula, Lheanvic F. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-02)The purpose of this academic work was to investigate the solecism made by the second year BSED English major students in Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) in writing essay. There were 12 indicators of grammatical errors; those are addition, omission, misinformation, misordering, parallel constructions, verb forms, syntax, diction, subject-verb concord, prepositions, nouns, as well as verb. The research besides suggested to familiarize the rule of grammar and exercise learning activities to help students to action the appropriate forms rightly to raise validity. In this exploration, a descriptive quantitative method was used in the accompany of adopted questionnaire. A total of ninety-one English students participated in the study. In the results, participants emphasized that grammatical errors significantly impact its quality and readability, and requires substantial revision.Item Language proficiency and writing anxiety of grade 10 learners in Bansalan DistrictAlbania, Ailen S. (Davao del Sur State College, 2025-05)The study was to determine the level of language proficiency and writing anxiety of Grade 10 learners in Bansalan District, Division of Davao del Sur using descriptive method. The following findings were drawn according to the sequence of the objectives of the study that revealed that the level of language proficiency of Grade 10 learners in terms of English proficiency and avoidance behavior which was verbally described as Moderate, while English language, language anxiety, learning resources, somatic anxiety and cognitive anxiety which are verbally described as High, The relationship between the level of language proficiency and writing anxiety of Grade 10 learners with the p-value which is higher than the level of significance indicates that there is no significant relationship between the two variables. It is recommended that the school administrator may give an avenue for the teachers and students in providing them seminar-workshop and training program from national to international venue so they can be well equipped, upgraded, and become competitive in terms of speaking and the English Teachers may provide concrete evidence like implementing school-based English-speaking intervention program and other related activities to sharpen the student's skill in speaking and there is a need to focus more on pronunciation and interaction.Item Perceptions of students in using Quilbot in academic writingAntoque, Aprille Grace L. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-01)This study explores the impact of Quilbot paraphrasing tool on Davao del Sur State College third-year students' academic writing skills, including its influence on writing process, skill development, and academic integrity. Qualitative interview with eight participants showed that Quilbot was generally helpful enhancing writing, vocabulary, and preventing plagiarism, though corners about overuse and stifling creativity were raised. This study emphasis the need for greater education outreach on ethical use tools in academic writing. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to ongoing discussions on the incorporate of AI- powered tools in academic writing settings and the impacts of these developments on academics writing practices.
