Item Web-based drug related crimes geospatial data analytics for Digos City police stationAlimama, Nathan Jeaster D. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-07)This capstone project presents a web-based geospatial data analytics system designed exclusively for the Digos City Police Station. The technology aims to aid the Digos City Police Station by utilizing a clustered map to visually represent and analyze drug data. The development of the web-based system for the Digos City Police Station significantly enhances visualization capabilities through the implementation of clustered maps and descriptive analytics graphs. These visual tools provide a clearer, more comprehensive representation of drug crime data, enabling the identification of pattern and trends that are crucial for strategic decision-making. The system was developed using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) technique, which ensured a flexible and iterative approach to creating the system. The system is efficiently allows the admin page manage user accounts and the system also has a user logs history feature that allows for effective tracking, clustered maps and descriptive analytics also improves the system's usefulness for law enforcement operations. This system make a big contribution to the police force for its comprehensive understanding of drug-related information, including the distribution of drug cases and arrests across different areas, as well as the yearly trends in drug-related arrests. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-06)This study aimed to create a monitoring system that can handle the difficulties that monitoring fish feeding in real-time. The lack of real-time monitoring in fish feeding techniques can lead to control the level of feeds easy way to the fish farming monitor the tank level. To solve this problem, the researcher created a web-based fish feeding real-time monitoring system to give the users the resources they needed to maintain the tank level of feeds in fishpond. This system can display and monitor the feeds level, time of feeds distribution, water temperature and ph level. It means that the system effectively monitors fish feeding conditions, aiding outdoor fish farmer in improving their fishpond. Real-time monitoring allow for timely interventions, and collected data supports informed decision-making. Overall, the web-based fish feeding real-time monitoring system presented in this study is a potential answer to the problems of monitoring fish feeding. The system is effective and simple, allowing to the fishpond in Dawis, Digos City to make an easy way to monitor the feeds level, time of feeds distribution, water temperature and ph level conditions.Item Android-based farm data management system with cost and return analysisAlabata, Jeanly Hartbeyn E. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-06)The purpose of the Android-based farm data management system with cost and return analysis is to enhance farm management through a user-friendly mobile application. Farmers often face challenges in effectively managing and analyzing their farm data. The solution provided by this system includes an intuitive interface with customizable reminders, enabling farmers to actively engage in farm management activities. The project, developed and tested in Sitio Mainit, Kapatagan, Digos City, involved farmers directly and included training sessions to ensure effective use. Simple random sampling and descriptive statistical methods, focusing on mean values, were used to evaluate the system's functionality, reliability, and usefulness. The findings validate the system's capability to support farmers in managing their operations efficiently. This implementation has significantly benefited farmers by providing a user-friendly mobile application that allows user to input expenses as well as farm data, ROI calculation, and weather notifications, which give a lot of advantage for users. In addition, the findings and insights gained from this study contribute to advancement of android-based farm data management system with cost and return analysis, offering practical guidance and recommendation in the agriculture and smallholder farmers' sector.Item Household utilities monitoring system using geofence technology with data analyticsSuizo, Clyde Andrie G. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-06)This study was conducted to determine that combining geofence technology into household monitoring systems was an approach to improving utility management and monitoring more efficiently and effectively. While the previously mentioned changes had already been integrated into systems used to monitor household utilities, it was clear that there was a lack of monitoring systems that utilized geofence technology. Such methods were more useful among locals in Don Lorenzo Homes Subdivision, Tres de Mayo, Digos City. As a solution, the monitoring system created in this study achieved the following functions; (1) used a motion sensor as the geofence to cover the entrances and exits of the household with an effective range of 250cm and an effective angle between 60 and 120 degrees, (2) used light and gas sensors integrated into household utilities to gather real-time information with an effective range of 60cm and 20cm respectively, (3) visualized data with the help of bar and line graphs using graphical analytics techniques to display the collected data. Through pilot testing and evaluation, the system gained a 4.2 weighted mean with a remark of GOOD, which demonstrated that employing geofencing techniques increases the efficiency of the homeowner's household utility management. The capstone project stood to make significant contributions to the research field by combining geofence technology and sensors to enhance household utility management. The anticipated benefits in terms of energy efficiency, cost savings, and household utilities management highlighted the project's potential to influence both academic research and practical applications in the smart home domain. The research outcomes could serve as a foundation for further studies, leading to the development of more sophisticated systems and inspiring new approaches to energy efficiency, sustainability, and management.Item Web-based agri-fisheries e-commerce market systemSentillas, Angelito Jr. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-06)This study delves into the conceptualization, development, and implementation of such systems, exploring their potential to connect farmers, fishermen, and consumers directly which addresses the ease of product marketing using the system with map integration. Furthermore, the project sought to provide a user-friendly, buyer homepage which displays all the products, allows the buyer to add products to cart, provides a map which displays all the store location and the routing, and enable the user to create its own shop. Additionally, it allows the seller to add and manage products, and manage orders. It also enables the super admin to manage users, categories, products, and tract the user logs. Moreover, the system has utilized the rapid application development methodology to develop the project. The project achieved its goal of successfully implemented e-commerce system where seller can sell their products and buyers to buy products they want with integrated mapping system where user can view store location and its routing from buyer to the store. This implementation helped our local farmers, fishermen, and consumers by providing a website that allows the user to buy and sell their product online. In addition, this promote a wide range of marketing which give a lot of advantage for both users. The findings and insights gained from the study contribute to advancement of web-based Agri-fisheries e-commerce system, offering practical guidance and recommendation for stakeholders in the agriculture and fisheries sectors.Item Spring onion disease detection and treatment recommendationTalaid, Nikko R. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-06)Spring onion is a delicate crop that demands much attention during its cultivation; diseases such as the purple blotch and leaf blight affect spring onion crops and, in any case, prevention of these diseases is rather complicated to detect. Study aims to diagnose the diseases correctly and make suitable recommendations on the treatment needed. The researcher created an app that help in identifying the spring onion disease and would offer recommendations on how to treat such disease. In developing the app, the researcher used Android studio and Google Colab for datasets training. The technique used in choosing the survey participants is simple purposive random sampling and self-constructed checklist based on the ISO 9124 Likert scale to rate the app's functionality, reliability, and usability. The app is ideal for small and big farmlands, especially in regions without an internet connection, and during an experimental test, it gained an accuracy of 90% in the purple blotch and 93% in leaf blight-captured crop diseases within a 3-inch range. The significant results of this study include the application's ability to detect two types of diseases, namely purple blotch and leaf blight, and its ability to provide personalized treatments, such as recommendations, chemical treatments, and care tips, based on the specific disease detected. The app's contribution to the farming community is its ability to detect crop diseases early, simplify disease detection techniques, increase harvests, decrease chemical use, and prevent minor spring onion problems that could result in major outbreaks and damage large farmlands.Item Android-based classroom attendance monitoring system using QR technology with SMS notificationGenobisa, Kenneth N. By harnessing SMS notifications and QR codes, the system seeks to enhance both accuracy and efficiency. Deployed initially at Alfredo Eugenio Sr. Elementary School, the system addresses challenges such as mobile network stability and device reliability, thereby contributing to advancements in educational technology and attendance managementItem Processing of fiber based biofoam cups using sugarcane bagasse and cassava starch as plant container for hydroponic systemSarno, Ma. Rachel Anne N. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-05)The study was designed to produce a fiber-based biofoam cup from different mixtures of sugarcane bagasse and cassava starch, an alternative to styrofoam cups as plant containers in a hydroponics set-up. The study was carried out with 3 treatments replicated thrice. The mixture was added with a constant amount of polyvinyl alcohol, glycerol and magnesium stearate by weight basis, and then coated with paraffin wax. The data for density, water absorption, solubility as well as the performance of the biocups in terms of plant growth (no. of leaves), plant mortality and pH level when used as plant containers in Kratky method were gathered through a completely randomized design and analyzed using the analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at 1% and 5% levels. Only the treatment yielding the best results in terms of quality were evaluated for hydroponic application. Statically, the results indicate that the density and water absorption of the cups from the three treatments significantly varied with a P-value of 0.0055 and 0.0127 respectively. However, no significant difference was observed for the solubility of the biocups among the treatment with a P- value of 0.0827. Based on the results, treatment 3 exhibited the highest density and lowest values for solubility and water absorption among the treatments and was selected with the commercially available styrofoam cups as plant containers in Kratky method hydroponics set-up. For the duration of the observation period, all petchay plants survived resulting in a mortality rate of 0%. Furthermore, there was a significant difference in the number of leaves, as indicated by the P-value of 0.0059 while pH level was found to be lower (6.38) for treatment 3 than the control (6.40). The results suggest that biofoam cups are not best to be used as plant container in hydroponics, but due to its higher density, low water absorption and solubility it implies potential suitability for other planting materials, such as for seedlings.Item Water consumption and growth of spring onion (Allium fistulusom L.) under different nutrient solution depths in kratky hydroponics under shaded conditionsDabalos, Marc Jay P. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-06)The study was conducted at Davao del Sur State College (DSSC), Brgy. Matti, Digos City, Davao del Sur, to investigate the effect of varying depths of nutrient solution on the water consumption and growth of spring onion. The experiment followed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications. The treatments were T1 (15cm depth of nutrient solution), T2 (10 cm depth of nutrient solution), T3 (5 cm depth of nutrient solution). The effect of the depths of nutrient solution was determined with regards to the water consumption, plant height, stem diameter, number of leaf, root length, number of shoots per plant and the temperature of nutrient solution. The gathered data was statistically evaluated using analysis of variance (ANOVA) at a significance level of 1% to 5% based on the results of the study, the nutrient solution depths showed no significant effect on the water consumption and growth response of spring onion (Allium fistulusom L.) and also to the nutrient solution temperature.Item The influence of coco peat and coco coir media on germination of lettuce using hydroponicBastida, Inna Mae (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-05)The study able to determine the germination of lettuce under SNAP hydroponics nutrient solution. Using different mixture of treatment and nutrient solution. The root length, plant height, number of leaves, germination rate, and water pH were determined. The data was gathered using a Randomized Complete Block Design. The result that root length average range 4.3-5.1 cm. While plant height average range 3.5-8.2 cm. In number of leaves average range 2.4-3 pcs. Germination rate average range 7.3-7.4. There's no significant difference in terms of root length, plant height, number of leaves and germination rate of lettuce.
