Item Exploring the grammatical errors of second year BSED English studentsDadula, Lheanvic F. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-02)The purpose of this academic work was to investigate the solecism made by the second year BSED English major students in Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) in writing essay. There were 12 indicators of grammatical errors; those are addition, omission, misinformation, misordering, parallel constructions, verb forms, syntax, diction, subject-verb concord, prepositions, nouns, as well as verb. The research besides suggested to familiarize the rule of grammar and exercise learning activities to help students to action the appropriate forms rightly to raise validity. In this exploration, a descriptive quantitative method was used in the accompany of adopted questionnaire. A total of ninety-one English students participated in the study. In the results, participants emphasized that grammatical errors significantly impact its quality and readability, and requires substantial revision.Item Exploring the effects of reading habits to the academic performance of grade 11 studentsCagoyong, Claudine Joy A. Through comprehensive research and analysis, it aimed to uncover the influence of factors such as the home environment, attitudes and values, and reading frequency on students' reading habits, as well as their effect on academic performance and educational outcomes. The findings offered valuable insights for educators and policymakers, aiding in the development of strategies that fostered effective reading habits and ultimately led to improved students' academic achievements.Item Beliefs and strategies in language learning among secondary studentsArcayna, Danica V. (Davao del Sur State College, 2025-01)This study was conducted to determine the relationship of beliefs in language learning and language learning strategies among secondary students of Serapion C. Basalo Memorial Colleges. This study found out some conclusions that obtained the objectives of the study, it includes first the significant difference to the level of beliefs in language learning in terms of gender and year level. Quite similar in terms of language learning strategies when categorized to gender were dominated by female. It also revealed that meta-cognitive strategies were utilized compared to cognitive strategies. Moreover, the study had revealed that there was a significant relationship between the beliefs in language and strategies, supported that higher level of students does not reflect that they utilized.Item Poetry reading strategies and comprehension skills of grade 9 SPA studentsCamat, Lovely Mae M. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-05)The research was intended to determine the relationship between poetry reading strategies and comprehension skills among the grade 9 SPA students at Digos City National High School. An instrument that was modified was used to collect data from 122 respondents using a correlational approach. The findings showed that students use a very high degree of reading methods in terms of engagement in the poetry discussions and proficiency in reading comprehension. Meanwhile, the analysis skills in poetry comprehension, understanding, and interpreting poetic language were at a high level. However, no significant relationships were found with other strategies and skills.Item Learning outcomes of mother tongue subject and English language competencies of grade 3 pupilsEben, Jel Rose V. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-01)The implementation of the Mother Tongue education had gained numerous implications, one of its reason is the impact of Mother Tongue to the English speaking competencies of the students, which are highly believed that it is an essential to succeed academically and anything that calls for English language abilities. Herewith, this quantitative study, which took a descriptive correlational approach, obtained an in-depth understanding about the student's capacity in regards to their level of English-speaking competencies. This study was conducted last June (2023), involving 91 grade 3 pupils who willingly gave their time to participate in this study. The data were gathered using in-depth interviews with the use of ACTFL oral proficiency interview that ought to test the English-speaking competencies of the grade 3 pupils. The data were analyzed to assure that the results are reliable. The outcome of this study concluded that the grade 3 pupils has an outstanding performance in regards to their learning outcomes in the Mother Tongue subject. This study also proved that the level of English speaking competencies of the pupils was distinguished which also concludes that their learning outcome has a significant relationship to their English-speaking competencies.Item Pagbabalik-tanaw: Akademikong paglalakbay ng mga unang mag-aaral ng BSED-FilipinoBanlasan, Michael Jack M., Jr. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-05)Nilayon ng pag-aaral na ito ay malaman ang karanasan ng unang mag-aaral ng BSEd-Filipino sa Davao del Sur State College. Ito ay upang tukuyin ang mga pagsubok sa kanilang akademikong pag-aaral, alamin ang mga salik na nakakaapekto sa kanilang edukasyon at maunawaan ang mga pamamaraan na ginagamit nila upang harapin at malampasan ang kanilang mga pagsubok. Ang pag-aaral na ito ay isinagawa sa labintalong (13) unang mag-aaral sa BSED-Filipino ng Davao del Sur State College. Ang pag-aaral na ito ay ginamitan ng kwalitatibo-penomenolohikal na pananaliksik upang malaman ang mga karanasan ng mga unang mag-aaral sa BSED-Filipino. Ang mga datos ay nakalap sa pamamagitan ng in-depth interview at ang mga gabay na tanong sa pananaliksik. Lumabas sa pananaliksik ang mga hamon at pagsubok na kinahaharap ng mga unang mag-aaral sa BSED- Filipino na may apat (4) na pangunahing tema, ito ang hamong pang-akademiko, mga sikolohikal na stressors, mga teknikal na hadlang at usaping pinansyal. Samantala, sa epekto ng mga hamon at pagsubok ng mga unang mag-aaral ng BSED-Filipino sa kanilang pag-aaral ay lumabas sa isinagawang panayam ang tatlong (3) pangunahing mga tema, ito ang epekto sa akademiko, kakulangan sa pagdalo at pakikilahok, at ang epekto sa kalusugan ng pag-iisip at kapakakanan. Sa kabilang banda, sa paraan ng pagtugon ng mga unang mag-aaral ng BSED-Filipino para malagpasan ang mga hamon sa pagsubok na kanilang kinahaharap ay may lumabas na tatlong (3) pangunahing tema, ito ang tulong at gabay sa pag-aaral, pag- unlad sa sarili at ang kanilang motibasyon. Sa pangkalahatan, masasabing dapat pangtuonan ang mga karanasan ng mga unang mag-aaral sa BSED- Filipino upang mas maging matagumpay sila sa kanilang akademikong paglalakbay.Item Antas ng paggamit ng multimidya sa akademikong performans ng mga mag-aaral sa asignaturang Filipino sa baitang 9Flores, Ria Jean F. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-05)Ang pag-aaral na ito ay nilayong sinuri ang ugnayan ng antas paggamit ng multimidya at akademikong performans ng mga mag-aaral sa asignaturang Filipino sa baitang 9 ng Matti National High School. Ang layunin ng pag-aaral ay ang sumusunod: (1) malaman ang antas ng paggamit ng multimidya sa pagkatuto ng mga mag-aaral sa apat na aspeto: motibasyon, kontribusyon sa pagkatuto, interaksyon, at pakikilahok; (2) malaman ang akademikong performans ng mga mag-aaral sa paggamit ng multimidya; (3) matukoy ang makabuluhang ugnayan ng antas ng paggamit ng multimidya sa pagkatuto ng mga mag-aaral at sa akademikong performans ng mga mag-aaral sa asignaturang Filipino. Ang disenyo ng pag-aaral ay deskriptibong korelasyonal at ginamit ang sarbey kwestyuner bilang pangunahing instrumento sa pagkalap ng datos. Ang mga datos ay inalisa gamit ang mga istadistikang mean, at Pearson's r. Natuklasan na mataas ang antas ng paggamit multimidya sa pagkatuto ng mga mag-aaral sa apat na aspeto. Nakita rin ang kabuuang akademikong performans ng mga mag-aaral sa asignaturang Filipino na nasa antas ng "Satisfactory". Sa kabilang banda, lumabas na walang makabuluhang ugnayan sa pagitan ng antas ng paggamit ng multimidya sa pagkatutuo ng mga mag- aaral at akademikong performans ng mga mag-aaral. Bilang rekomendasyon, inirerekomenda sa punongguro, mahalaga ang patuloy na pagpapalakas ng mga programa at patakaran sa paggamit ng multimidya sa asignaturang Filipino, kahit walang direktang ugnayan sa akademikong performans. Kailangang tiyakin na ang mga ito ay nagtataguyod ng mahusay na paggamit ng teknolohiya bilang kasangkapan sa pagtuturo at pagkatuto, kahit hindi ito nagreresulta sa direktang pag-angat ng marka ng mga mag-aaral. Para sa mga guro, mahalaga pa rin ang patuloy na pagsasanay at pagpapalawak ng kanilang kaalaman sa paggamit ng multimidya sa pagtuturo, kahit walang malinaw na ugnayan sa pag-angat ng marka ng mga mag-aaral. Sa kabuuan ang pag-aaral ay naglalayong mapabuti ang kalidad ng edukasyon at magbigay ng masusing kaalaman sa ugnayan ng multimidya at pag-aaral.Item Covid-19 pandemic aftermath: Mathematics teachers teaching strategy in Salud Cagas Technical and Vocational High SchoolLimama, Jenny Mae A. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-04)The covid-19 pandemic impacted a lot the mathematics teachers in the deliberation of education. This research aimed to determine the adjustments of teachers of mathematics teachers and to delineate the different teaching strategies of mathematics teachers in Salud Cagas Technical and Vocational High School. The study employed qualitative phenomenological research methods, utilizing in-depth interviews. The findings reveal that mathematics teachers used different teaching strategies, such as active-based instruction and traditional method of teaching. Furthermore, mathematics teachers encountered various challenges in utilizing the different teaching strategies in a post-pandemic. These challenges include fall under facilitating learning, classroom management, applying new methods of teaching, and challenges in the new curriculum. Instead of letting the challenges overdrive their ways, teachers are applying different coping strategies in conquering the challenges such as going the extra mile in teaching and keeping up the teaching innovations. Moreover, teachers understand that they should adapt the changes in the teaching landscape and parent-teacher collaboration should be established in the field of education .Item The use of instructional videos as a learning tool and students' self-concept in learning mathematicsTan, Crystal Jane N. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-02)The study of mathematics is unique and essential to education. People use mathematics on a daily basis in various fields and aspects of life. Basically, utilizing technological advancement in educating students in Mathematics is a challenging assigned responsibility that involves taking into contemplation several types of aspects, such as teaching methods, subject matter, and student engagement. Additionally, a student's self-concept in mathematics can be assessed by how confident they are in their ability to grasp new mathematical concepts and perform well in class. This is how students perceive their mathematical skills and knowledge. To identify the relevant relationship between the use of instructional videos as a learning tool and students' self-concept in learning mathematics. This quantitative study was organized by utilized detailed-correlational survey method to gathered information using an modified questionnaire from Adlawon et al., (2022) and Bunag (2015). The information of the research was collected by employing a questionnaire consisting of two parts. Part I, is requested to ascertain the use of instructional videos as a learning tool in terms of its: Purpose, Content, and Video Quality. Part II, is to determine the students' self concept towards mathematics in terms of: Learned, Organized, and Dynamic. At Davao del Sur State College at Matti, Digos City is where this research study was carried out. After the researcher obtaining the list of BSED-Mathematics students from ITED, 141 respondents were anticipated between the use of instructional videos as a learning tool and students' self-concept in learning mathematics.Item The influence of study habits and learning interest on the mathematics performance of indigenous studentsPangandoyon, Bincard V. (Davao del Sur State College, 2024-04)The main goal of this study was to determine the level of influence of study habits and learning interest on the mathematics performance of indigenous students of the Grade 9 indigenous students in Sinawilan National High School. This research study used a descriptive-correlation research design. The study was conducted with a total of 65 respondents from all the 9 indigenous students who are currently enrolled for the academic year 2022-2023. The instruments that were used by the researcher in gathering data dealt with the level of influence of study habits and learning interest on the mathematics performance on the mathematics performance of indigenous students. Results revealed that the Grade 9 indigenous students' level of study habits and learning interest is high and low, study habits obtain an overall mean of 3.52 and learning interest obtain an overall mean of 2.98. There is a significant relationship between study habits and learning interest on mathematics performance. Also, the domain that most influences mathematics performance are the home environment and motivation. It was found that the Grade 9 indigenous students in Sinawilan National High School experienced a high level of study habits and learning interest which influences their mathematics performance. Future research may be undertaken covering another set of respondents to determine their level of mathematics performance, and can use other variables that were not used in the study.
